Its been such a pain in the ass. Let me tell you. Tons of Lost footage, Computer Crashes, Multiple filmers and editors. Punk kids hi jacking footy. Ryan Nix getting the camera stolen in Miami was a real heartbreaker. Marco's new footage being recorded in some European standard that isn't compatible with the rest of the video sucked ass. So basically we decided to call it a wrap before the footy got to old. Besides some of the footy started popping up in other videos. Oh well, I hope there is a learning curve.

But for all the B.S. I must say its a pretty good video. Our team is solid. A.j. Burnett living the dream in Hollywood, Marco Lambertucci killing it in Italy, Fred Tan nuff said! Ryan Oconner RipnDip bitches. Oh and lets not forget the monster Robert Lopez Mont....Insane...Of course maybe our best rider doesnt even have a part. That would be Willy D Billions. Maybe next time we will keep better track of his footy. There is just so many more things to say and stories to tell. One thing for sure we learned a lot and will try not to repeat the same mistakes on the next project.

I ran across this article written by Ocean Howell. If you not familiar with his name, his was a pro skaterboarder for Birdhouse in the early to mid 90's. More recently, he has been writing articles off and on for Transworld Business. The article itself is kind of lengthly but well worth the effort. It's really interesting to see how far cities are going to subversely control who uses so called "public spaces".

BLUE LOBSTER

A customer asked me about a sneaker called Blue Lobster. I told him the Lobsters came out last year. ANyway I decided to search it a bit and this is what I came up with. Thought I would share it with you. I got pinched by a couple of these bastards over 10 years ago in CAPE COD. I was coming in from surfing and a couple of these clamped on my toes. I jumped back on my board and paddled in to shore. One of them actually was still on my foot when i made it to shore. Im really glad lifeguards were there to fix me up. Don't call it a comeback. Well ok call it a comeback. When we opened Covert 6 years there was a new board company on the scene called RASA LIBRE. Well guess what its back and we couldn't be happier. Covert Magic Tees

We did a couple of tees in celebration of our boys making it to the finals. I forgot to take a picture of the MAgic logo bite. Here is the mock up. It looks really good. The second is a sarcastic Kobe dis. Both are available in the store now.

JUNE NIKE SB and JANOSKI RE -UP

Nike SB JUNE has hit the shelves. Here are the stand outs. The White on White SB Dunk which is Super clean and a nice change for you Air Force one heads.
The Supreme P-Rod is the best this year. Get ready for the three. The Purple Dunk Mid looks way better in person. I like the gold trim and stitching. Last but not least is the Red Blazer Premium. We also got a mini re-up on the Janoskis. See you soon.

Santa Monica Airlines

SMA or Santa Monica Airlines is the newest brand to be brought into the shop. SMA has been around for nearly 30 years. I remember rocking the classic bi plane tee way back. NATAS!!!!!! Here is a brief section taken from their site smaskateboards.com to fill you in on whats going down.

We have a few surprises for you this year, including an art show, limited edition 30th anniversary products and a store opening which we will let you know about in due time. Kevin Ancell has stepped up and done some of this 30th art (He did the OG Natas Panther), and we felt that we need to close the circle so we are really pretty happy to have his skills on board again.

SMA worked with Washington Street Skatepark the past two years to help out their free park program. This year to further help them in their fundraising endeavors, we will be making limited edition skateboard decks by the Fall ASR show/party with all the proceeds going directly to them. As this nears, we will let you know where and how to purchase these special decks.

Also if you are in Oz, please help out the Moss Jam people. They have a neat program that can use all the help it can get.

All of the good stuff that happened to SMA this past year happened because of you, our skate partners. Your feedback as to what products we need to make was vital to us. Along with our distributors, you helped us to be here for thirty years. For all of you we have met in person and through email, let me say from us here at SMA we say "THANKS!".

Just a friendly reminder about Saturday nights PUSHIN' VIII art show at BOLD HYPE. Its going to be awesome. I saw the boards tonight they look SICK!!!! Here are a few names you might recognize with boards in the show. Andrew Spear, Brice Stephans, David Hoskins, Dennis Hansbury, Jeff Proctor, Quincy Quigg, JILF, Andrew Pomier, Mike Petzel, Fan Cult, KID KOALA and DOLLA BILL. Big thanks to Dolla for letting us impose for a week during his first ever solo show. If you missed Dolla's opening then you need to be here Saturday night. His show looks amazing and is a must see.
